Wabi-Sabi

We are often looking for perfection in many aspects of life, including photography. Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese philosophy that is more about a way of living and lifestyle connected to the life cycle of nature. It is a concept encouraging us to search for the beauty in things that are not as perfect as we would first expect. Things and life are not permanent and maybe incomplete and not perfect.

Wabi is about recognising simplicity and Sabi is very much about the passing of time, remembering with time that things grow, age and decay.

This Japanese philosophy is absolutely brilliant for photography as it helps you focus and see the beauty and then record that moment in time with a photograph.
