Black and White Photography
Black and White photography is a great way to remove the distractions of colour and helps draw the eyes to the subject. Often with colour photographs there is just too much going on to confuse our eyes. I believe there is a timeless quality that can often produce breathtaking and moody scenes. Black and white can really show the contrasts, patterns, shadows and textures. Sometimes a scene really lends itself to black and white, e.g. an overcast day where there is not much colour anyway or maybe an old building. I always say give it a go whatever the type of photography. Here are some of my recent examples.
